Two North-Central Wyoming High School Coaches Named Coach Of The Year For Spring 2025 Season: It’s the athletes that win the games, events, and championships, but the coaches have something to do with it.
Taylor Kelting (4A Boys Track and Field) of Sheridan, and Dick Edgcomb (3A Boys Soccer) of Buffalo have been named Coaches of the Year for the Spring 2025 sports season, by the Wyoming Coaches Association.
The Sheridan Boys Track and Field team repeated as 4A State Champs last month and won their 4th State Title in 5 years, while the Buffalo Boys Soccer team won their first state title since 2013 in a shootout.
Alex Lassle of Sheridan (Soccer) and Brent Gross of Buffalo (Track and Field) were named Assistant Coaches of the Year in their respective sports.
Wyoming Shrine Bowl 2025: The Wyoming Shrine Bowl is more than just an all-star game, it’s the big fundraiser for the Shriner’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Game organizers use the slogan, “Strong Legs Run, So That Weak Legs Can Walk,” and players do more than just prepare for a football game.
They get to meet some of the patients that are being treated at the hospital.
Sometimes the teams make the drive to Salt Lake City, but this year, the patients visited Casper to share their stories.
Kelten Crow of Sheridan says it was an eye opening experience.
Will Taylor of Big Horn says he has a better understanding of why the game is played.
This year’s Shrine Bowl football game kicks off at 2pm from Natrona County High School in Casper.
Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers split a conference double-header yesterday on the road against the Cheyenne Hawks, winning the first game 5-3, but lost the second game 10-9.
The team next plays on Sunday in a home conference double-header vs. Casper, beginning at 4pm.
The team will host its annual Baseball Camp and Whiffle ball Tournament for those ages 7-14, both today and tomorrow.
Events run from 9am until 12-noon at Thorne Rider Stadium.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost at home last night against San Francisco 10-7.
Hunter Goodman tried to ignite a 9th inning comeback with a solo home run, but it was not enough.
The Rocks will try to avoid a 3-game sweep today, starting at 1:10pm.
NBA Finals: Indiana won Game 3 at home last night vs. Oklahoma City, 116-107, to take a 2-games-to-1 series lead.
Game 4 is scheduled to be played tomorrow.
