Sheridan Troopers/Jets Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team went 4-1 against various opponents this past weekend in Billings, Montana.

The lone loss was yesterday in the tournament semi-finals against Miles City, who just happened to be the last team to beat the Troopers, before they went on their recent 23-game win streak.

Sheridan won’t be home for long as the team is next scheduled to play in another tournament in Cheyenne, beginning on Thursday.

Among the opponents include the 2-time Legion World Series Champions out of Idaho Falls.

As for the Sheridan Jets, they had the weekend off from competition and are back in action tomorrow with a home conference double-header vs. Riverton.


Kenyon Snell Of Big Horn HS Wins 2A Boys Long Jump State Title: One Big Horn High School jumper recently fixed how he jumps and as a result, he won a state title.

Kenyon Snell is this year’s 2A Boys Champ in the long jump.

He was in last year’s state meet while at Tongue River, but scratched in all 3 of his attempts.

The soon to be senior says the 2 things that made him better was going up against a lot of 4A competition during the season, and going up against his teammates at various meets and in practice.

Snell also finished 6th in the 2A Boys triple jump and was 8th in the 2A Boys 400 meter dash.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost 2 out of 3 games this past weekend at Minnesota.

The Rocks lost on Friday 9-8 in 10 innings.

Jake McCarthy and Hunter Goodman each hit 2-run home runs in the top of the 9th, but the team could not hang on.

Colorado won Saturday’s game 8-5.

Goodman had himself a game to remember as he hit 2 solo shots and a 3-run blast.

Kyle Karros hit a 2-run home run for insurance.

The Rockies dropped the rubber game of the series yesterday 3-2.

The team starts a 7-game homestand today, with the first of a 4-game series vs. Miami.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.
