Sheridan Jets Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Jets recently split 4 conference games on the road this past weekend vs. Lovell and Jackson.
Up next is another conference road trip tomorrow against Cody.
Head Coach Brian Fritz says once things get going for Sheridan, runs are easy to come by, but the trick sometimes is trying to get going.
The next home game for the Jets is one week from today vs. Riverton.
Former Univ. of Wyoming Football Player and Coach Nominated For Hall Of Fame: Two people who used to be involved with the University of Wyoming Football program could have their names immortalized soon.
Former 2-time All-American and 1996 Biletnikoff Award winner Marcus Harris, as well as former Coach Joe Glenn have been nominated for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Class of 2027.
During his time at UW, Harris was the #1 in the NCAA in total receiving yards, with 4,518.
That ranks #5 today.
He was part of the 1996 team that went 10-2, and led the nation in passing offense, with 359.2 yards per game, plus the Pokes had a 12-game win streak which dated back to the 1995 season, and was the longest in the nation at the time.
Glenn coached the Cowboys from 2003 to 2008, with notable wins against big name non-conference opponents such as Ole Miss twice, as well as Virginia and Tennessee.
The most memorable win was in the 2004 Las Vegas Bowl, when Wyoming upset UCLA.
The NFF and College Hall of Fame Class will be announced sometime early next year.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies saved all their runs for the end last night.
Trailing 2-nothing going into the bottom of the 9th at home vs. Boston, the first 3 batters for the Rocks reached base, and then Jake McCarthy delivered a walk-off 3-run triple, to lift the home team to 3-2 win.
Colorado and the Red Sox are scheduled to play game 2 of their 3-game series today, starting at 6:40pm.
