Sheridan Troopers/Jets Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball Team split games last night in their home finale vs. USA Prime out Billings, winning Game 1 6-5 in 8 innings and losing Game 2 6-4.

The games were a tuneup for the state tournament which starts on Friday in Gillette.

Head Coach Austin Cowen says the main purpose of the games were to keep the players fresh and not go more than 1 week in between last week’s games vs. Gillette and this coming Friday.

The Troopers take on the Cheyenne Hawks in the first round of the state tournament, beginning at 4pm.

Meanwhile, the Sheridan Jets won both games of their home finale yesterday against the Billings Cardinals 8-1 and 8-3.

The team will go up against Cheyenne Post 6 in the first round of the state tournament, beginning at 1pm.

The Troopers and the Jets are on opposite sides of the bracket, thus the earliest that they could face each other would be on Sunday.

High School National Finals Rodeo: Round 1 of the High School National Finals Rodeo is nearly complete and a few competitors have yet to go.

Bleu Butler of Big Horn competed in the Breakaway Roping last night and today she will have both of her runs in the goat tying.

Those who compete last in Round 1, will go early in Round 2, hence that’s why she’s competing twice today.

The soon to be senior says she’s been on this big stage before, and she keeps her strategy as simple as possible.

Butler ended up taking a no time in her first run of breakaway roping last night.

She is scheduled for her second run tomorrow morning.

Teague Duncan of Clearmont scored 56 points last night in his first saddle bronc ride.

The first round leader currently has a score of 82.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won last night at home vs. Washington 8-7.

Hunter Goodman’s solo home run in the bottom of the 8th made the difference.

Mickey Moniak provided a solo shot of his own to help out.

The Rocks and Nationals are scheduled to play the rubber game of their 3-games series today, starting at 1:10pm.
