Sheridan WYO Rodeo 2026: It’s rodeo week in Sheridan as the 96th Sheridan WYO Rodeo welcomes in some of the top cowboy and cowgirl competitors in the world, and some that are working their way up the rodeo ladder.
The Steer Roping competition starts today at 6pm, with more tomorrow at 8am.
Barrel Racing Slack is scheduled for tomorrow at 6pm.
More slack on Wednesday morning at 8 o’clock with team roping, tie down roping, steer wrestling and breakaway roping.
The first rodeo performance, along with the World Championship Indian Relay Races is on Wednesday, starting at 7pm.
Sheridan Troopers/Jets Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers went 3-2 against various out-of-state competition this past weekend in Cheyenne.
The team returns home Wednesday for a double-header against the Upper Deck Expos out of Billings, beginning at 1pm.
Three players were recently named to the all-tournament team from the previous weekend at Billings.
William Greer, Dominic Destafano and Tanner Hamrick were all selected.
The first game of that tournament is when Greer pitched a no-hitter.
Meanwhile, the Sheridan Jets went 5-0 to win a weekend tournament in Gillette.
The team is back home tomorrow for a conference double-header against the Gillette Rustlers beginning at 5pm.
Sheridan HS Grad Texas Tanner Reflects On College Path: A Sheridan High and recent Air Force grad brought the hammer down, so to speak, on almost all of his competition.
Texas Tanner, who is a 2022 Bronc graduate, placed 2nd in the hammer throw and 4th in the discus, at last month’s NCAA Championship meet held in Eugene, Oregon.
He is also the 2022 Wyoming Gatorade Male Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
Tanner says while growing up, he wanted to do the same thing as his dad, but things took a slight detour athletically.
For the second year in a row, Tanner was named the Mountain West Conference Male Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won 2 out of 3 games this past weekend at home vs. San Francisco.
The Rocks won big on Friday 15-3.
Jake McCarthy hit both a solo home run and a grand slam, while Ezequiel Tovar added a 2-run shot of his own.
Colorado lost on Saturday 6-4.
Cole Carrigg hit a 3-run blast, but it was not enough.
The Rockies won yesterday 7-6.
Kyle Karros hit the go-ahead 3-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning, and the team was able to hang on for the W.
The Rocks are scheduled to begin a 7-game road trip with the first of 3 at LA Dodgers today.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:10pm.
