Sheridan HS Track and Field: When a team is motivated, it can produce both desirable and interesting results.
This past weekend the Sheridan High School Boys Track and Field team 3-peat as 4A State Champs, and won their 5th state title in 6 years.
The motivating factor was the indoor season, because the Broncs finished as state runners-up back in March to Cheyenne East, missing by 2 ½ points.
Head Coach Taylor Kelting says that did not sit too well with the team, and not only was he impressed with how the boys responded, they did so with some athletes sitting out due to injuries.
The Sheridan girls could be motivated for next year.
The top 4 teams in the standings got trophies, and the Lady Broncs were 5th, missing Laramie by 1 ½ points.
Big Horn HS Track and Field: The seniors on the Big Horn High School track and field team made it 4 for 4 when it came to state championships.
The Rams ended up winning 8 events, 3 of them courtesy of Sophomore Rio Hernandez in short distance running, and senior Chase Garber winning both throwing events, which when added up, provided the Rams a 56-point cushion over 2nd place Thermopolis.
Head Coach Kirk McLaughlin says support from within was one of the keys to success.
The Big Horn Lady Rams won the State crown in 2A for the first time in 10 years, by 47 points ahead of Wright.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies got walloped last night at the LA Dodgers 15-6.
Hunter Goodman hit a solo home run for the Rocks and Kyle Karros provided a 3-run blast, but the team needed much more than that.
Colorado will try to avoid being swept as the team closes out the series today, starting at 8:10pm.

The puck drops at 6pm.
NBA Playoffs: Oklahoma City won Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals last night at home vs. San Antonio 127-114, to take a 3-games to 2 series lead.
Game 6 is scheduled for tomorrow at San Antonio.
