Sheridan HS Grad River Osborne To Wrestle At Wartburg College: A recent Sheridan High School grad is not only motivated to get himself back on the wrestling mat, he also wants to try to surpass his older brothers, who have participated on a highly successful collegiate team.

River Osborne has signed his notice of intent to join the wrestling team at Wartburg College in Iowa.

His older brothers, who graduated from Sheridan HS, also competed on the same team.

Osborne says he has more than enough motivation to get back on the mat, but also owes a debt of gratitude to the College, who still believed in him after a bad break came his way.

Osborne adds he plans to major in biology.

Wartburg College is an NCAA Division III school located in Waverly, Iowa, which is about 20-25 miles north of Cedar Falls.

The Knights wrestling program has won 17 National Championships, including the last 2.

Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers’ winning streak is now at 19 games.

Of those 19, 13 of them have been won by the mercy rule and the average margin of victory is a little more than 10 runs per game.

Cashis Kula says once the school let out for the summer, the team has flipped the switch.

Gunnar Lamb says he agrees and despite the level of some of the competition lately, the Troopers are sticking to their game plan.

Sheridan is on the road this weekend at a tournament in Billings.

Up first is a team from Spokane, Washington tomorrow, beginning at 4pm.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost last night at home vs. Boston 5-2.

Willi Castro and Ezequiel Tovar each hit solo home runs, but that was it offensively.

The Rocks and Red Sox are scheduled to play the rubber game of their 3-game series today, beginning at 1:10pm.
