High School State Finals Rodeo: June is a big month for championship rodeo in Wyoming.

The College National Finals Rodeo starts in 10 days, but before that, the best high schoolers in Wyoming will get their chance.

Competition at the Wyoming State Finals Rodeo is today, tomorrow and Saturday at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo.

Performances both today and tomorrow start at 9am and 6pm.

Those who go this morning, will have their second run tomorrow evening and vice versa.

The Championship Short-Go is on Saturday beginning at 9:30am.

The Top 4 in each event qualify for the High School National Finals Rodeo which takes place July 19th through the 25th in Lincoln, Nebraska.


Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers are scheduled to play 5 games this weekend at the Black Hills Veteran Classic in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Up first are 2 games today, starting at 11:30am as the team will take on Elkhorn, Nebraska who were last year’s Nebraska State Runners-up.

The Troopers will also play the Billings Bandits, beginning at 2pm.

There is one more game on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Sheridan Head Coach Austin Cowen says this tournament comes at a good time, because the players are starting to take things a lot more seriously now.

Catcher Blaine Phillips says this weekend will help the Troopers get ready for some bigger games in the near future.

The Troopers won this tournament last year.

After this weekend, the team will be back at home on Tuesday.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were unable to complete the road sweep of the LA Angels, losing last night 11-4.

Tyler Freeman hit a 2-run home run to provide some support, but it was not enough.

The Rocks are off today, and start a 6-game homestand tomorrow, with the first of 3 vs. Milwaukee.


NBA Finals: The 4th quarter made the difference as New York was able to pull away and win Game 1 last night at San Antonio 105-95.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at San Antonio, beginning at 6:30pm.
