Sheridan College Rodeo: Two rounds at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper are complete, the third round is underway, and Sheridan College is still representing.
In the Breakaway Roping, Sierra Hilgenkamp ended up in a 3-way tie for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in Round 2.
Last night, she turned in a time of 2.5 seconds for Round 3, which has her in 3rd place in the round for now, but as far as the overall competition goes, she is done, because she had a no-time in Round 1 on Sunday.
In other events, Lonnie Dunn scored 71 points on his second ride in Saddle Broncs and he is 2 for 2 so far.
Christopher Nelson is also 2 for 2 and in 5th place overall.
Both of them are scheduled to have their 3rd ride tomorrow.
Jake Schlattmann ended up with a no score in his second ride yesterday.
He will have his 3rd ride today along with Taiten Eaton.
Competition starts at 7pm.
In the team roping, Tyon Arneson and his partner got another no time in yesterday’s slack round.
Their 3rd run is scheduled for Thursday.
Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers have won 15 straight since the Memorial Day Weekend, outscoring opponents 175-28 in that stretch.
Earlier this month the team won the Veterans Classic in Rapid City for the second year in a row.
Head Coach Austin Cowen says the players have been focusing more on the team and less so on whichever team is in the opposing dugout.
The Troopers are next scheduled to play conference games on Friday at Jackson and on Saturday at Lovell.
Meanwhile, the Sheridan Jets added a game to their schedule.
The team will host the Upper Deck Expos from Billings today, beginning at 12:30pm.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won last night on the road against the Chicago Cubs 5-2.
TJ Rumfield hit a 2-run home run to give his team the lead.
The Rocks will try to win the rubber game of the 3-game series today, starting at 6:05pm.
Thursday is an off day on the schedule and the team will begin a 6-game homestand on Friday with 3 vs. Pittsburgh, followed by 3 vs. Boston.
