It’s all-star weekend in Wyoming both on the basketball court and on the football field.

WY vs. MT All-Star Basketball: The Wyoming-Montana All-Star Basketball Games will be played today in Gillette and tomorrow at Billings.

Three Sheridan County High School athletes will play for team Wyoming.

Nate Miner of Sheridan is in the boys game, while Camryn Wagner of Sheridan and Chaney Reish of Tongue River will play in the girls game.

Miner says this is a weekend he’s been looking forward to.

Games today and tomorrow are scheduled to tip off at 5 and 7pm.

Wyoming Shrine Bowl Football Game: The 53rd annual Wyoming Shrine Bowl game is tomorrow at Natrona County High School in Casper.

Representing Sheridan is Sam Huffman, Keegan Rager, Breck Reed and Gauge Rodgers.

James Ihnat and Lane Rabel from Buffalo are also on the team.

The game kicks off at 2pm.

Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers are scheduled to be in action both tomorrow and Sunday vs. teams from Casper.

The team will play on the road tomorrow against the Drillers at 1 and 3pm, and return home on Sunday to play the Wildcatters at 1 and 3.

The latter games can be seen LIVE on Sheridan Media TV, which can be seen on the front page of sheridanmedia.com.

You can also hear the LIVE radio play-by-play call on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

College National Finals Rodeo: The College National Finals Rodeo starts on Sunday in Casper, and Sheridan College will be well represented.

Riding in the Saddle Broncs will be Jake Schlattman, Lonnie Dunn, Taiten Eaton, and Christopher Nelson, while Reece Reder is the lone bareback rider on the team.

Also competing is Tyon Arneson in the team roping and Sierra Hilgenkamp in Breakaway Roping.

The season ended at the end of April, but since rodeo is not a varsity sport, a person can compete in both college and in the pros at the same time.

Schlattman says that’s how he’s been keeping himself busy between then and now.

Competition on Sunday is scheduled to begin at 1pm.

Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos are keeping their Head Coach for a few more years.

Sean Payton recently signed a 5-year extension to keep him with the team until 2030.

Financial terms of the deal are unknown.

In the previous 3 years, he has put together a record of 32-19 and coached Denver to the AFC Championship Game this past season.

The Broncos are scheduled to play 3 pre-season games at Atlanta and at home vs. Green Bay and Minnesota, beginning on August 14th.

The regular season begins on September 14th, with the first Monday game of the season at Kansas City.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were unable to complete the sweep against the visiting Chicago Cubs yesterday, losing 9-3.

Brett Sullivan hit 2 solo home runs, and Cole Carrigg (care-igg), who was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque earlier this week, knocked one out of the park himself, but it was not enough.

The Rocks start a 6-game road trip today, with the first of 3 at the Athletics.

Games today and tomorrow are scheduled to start at 8:05pm, and Sunday’s game begins at 1:05pm.

NHL Stanley Cup Finals: Carolina doubled up Las Vegas in Game 5 last night at home 4-2, to take a 3-games to 2 lead in the series.

Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Las Vegas.
