Sheridan Troopers/Jets/Cavalry/Infantry Legion Baseball: First place is on the line today at Ernie Rottolini Field.

The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team hosts defending state champ Gillette in a conference double-header.

First place in the North is on the line for the upcoming state tournament.

Sheridan only needs to win one of 2 to secure the #1 seed.

First pitch is scheduled for 5pm.

Shane Parker will have the LIVE radio play-by-play call on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The state tournament starts one week from tomorrow at Gillette.

Meanwhile, the Sheridan Jets will host the 2-day Bomber Mountain Dogfight Tournament tomorrow and Saturday.

On the first day, the host team will take on the Casper Drillers at 4:30pm and Lovell at 7:30pm.

Saturday’s schedule and opponent is dependent on tomorrow’s results.

The Sheridan Cavalry and Infantry start their post season tomorrow.

The Cavs are at the B State Tournament in Riverton and will play Evanston at 10am, while the Infantry are at the C State Tournament in Laramie and will take on Rock Springs, also at 10am.

Mountain West Conference Football: Mountain West Conference Football Media Days are going on in Las Vegas.

Three members of the Wyoming Cowboys have received pre-season All Mountain West Conference honors.

On offense, lineman Rex Johnsen was selected, while linebacker Ethan Stuhlsatz was selected on defense.

For specialists, punter Bart Edmiston was picked.

With all the recent conference realignment, the MWC is not doing a pre-season poll this season.

The Wyoming Cowboys start their season on Saturday, September 5th at Colorado State and the home opener is on September 12th vs. Northern Colorado.

The first conference game is on September 26th at home vs. Hawaii.
