Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: For the second year in a row, the Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team won the Veterans Classic Baseball Tournament in Rapid City, South Dakota.

The team defeated Elk Horn, Nebraska and the Billings Bandits on Thursday.

On Friday, Sheridan won vs. the 406 Flyers out of Billings, and on Saturday the team beat Huron, South Dakota.

That put the Troopers into yesterday’s championship game where the team outscored USA Prime out of Billings 10-3.

Sheridan is back at home tomorrow for a conference double-header vs. Lander beginning at 5pm.

The team is also hosting a 2-day baseball camp and whiffle ball tournament today and tomorrow from 9am until 12-noon.

Signups are still available at Ernie Rotillini Field, and the cost is $60.


Sheridan HS Grad Levi Peldo To Join Livestock Judging Team At Casper College: A recent Sheridan HS Grad who has been showing livestock will continue to do so in his effort to reap the indirect benefits that he gets from it.

Levi Peldo has signed his notice of intent to join the livestock judging team at Casper College.

He says he’s been involved since he was 8 years old and has enjoyed meeting many of the more experienced members of the industry.

Peldo adds there’s more to livestock judging than the actual judging itself.

It’s the life skills one can get from it.

Peldo says he plans to major in ag business and minor in accounting. 


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost all 3 games at home vs. Milwaukee this past weekend.

Friday’s score was 9-7 in 10 innings.

Hunter Goodman went yard for the cause.

Saturday’s score was 7-1 and yesterday’s score was 12-4.

Goodman hit another solo home run, but it was way too late by then.

Also in that game, starting pitcher Kyle Freeland became the new franchise leader in innings pitched.

The Rocks are off today and start a 3-game series tomorrow at home vs. the Chicago Cubs.


NHL Stanley Cup Finals: What a game on Saturday between Las Vegas and Carolina.

The Golden Knights scored 4 times in the second period, the first 2 were 16 seconds apart from each other, but the Hurricanes answered in the third period with 3 goals in 39 seconds, and tied the game at 4 with less than 2 minutes to go to force overtime.

Las Vegas would score in the second OT to win 5-4, and take a 2 games to 1 series lead.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Las Vegas, beginning at 6pm.


NBA Finals: New York survived a late run by San Antonio to win Game 2 on the road back on Friday 105-104, to go up 2-nothing in the series.

Game 3 is today at New York.

Tip off is scheduled for 6:30pm.
