Sheridan HS Wrestling: After coming up short in their bid to repeat as 4A State Champs, the Sheridan Bronc wrestling team is hoping to make another run with greater numbers.

Last season, Sheridan had 5 wrestlers make it to the state championship match in their respective weight class, but all 5 of those have graduated.

Head Coach Tyson Shatto says the recent success is breeding future success, and competition within this year’s team could be just as good as going against other teams.

As for the Lady Broncs, perhaps the 3rd year will be the charm.

In each of the previous 2 seasons, Sheridan has placed 3rd at the state meet.

Head Coach Marcie Lane the team has made the most out of the talent that was available, it’s just that the overall numbers came up short, thus there usually wasn’t a full team and in turn the Lady Broncs could not get as many points at the state meet as they wanted to get.

This year, the numbers problem might be getting better.

Sheridan will start the season this coming Thursday with a dual at home vs. Worland, beginning at 5pm.

Afterwards, the Sheridan JV will take on the Tongue River varsity.

On Friday and Saturday, the Broncs will be at a tournament at Powell, while the Lady Broncs will head to Rapid City, South Dakota.

University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys play today at the University of South Dakota.

Tip off is scheduled for 6pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos face a playoff type game that’s almost a must win, if the team wants to make the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

Denver currently holds the final wild card spot in the AFC, and lead both Indianapolis and Miami by 2 games in the standings, and lead Cincinnati by 3 games.

The Broncos host the Colts this Sunday starting at 2:25pm, and while a win this weekend would not clinch a playoff spot, it would greatly increase their odds.

If Denver were to lose, then things will get interesting because Indianapolis and possibly Miami both have easier schedules to finish the season.

After this week, the Broncos play at the LA Chargers, at Cincinnati and then conclude the regular season at home vs. Kansas City.

Both Denver and Indy had this past weekend off, to prepare for each other.
