Sheridan HS Football: Seniority has its advantages, there’s strength in numbers, and the Sheridan High School football team may have both this season.

The Broncs graduated their share of seniors from last year like any other team, but if you followed last year’s scores, the team put the mercy rule into effect in 4 games and won a total of 5 by shutout.

That means last year’s reserves got a lot of playing time, which transfers into a lot of experience for this year.

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says the challenge now is to see what reserves can be built for this year.

Sheridan can put on the pads on for the first time today.

The season starts 2 weeks from tomorrow.

Sheridan County HS Golf: Competition starts today for Sheridan.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs will compete in a 2-day event at Powell.

The Sheridan girls are last year’s 4A State Runners-up.

Big Horn and Tongue River are scheduled to compete on Friday in a 1-day meet at Upton.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won yesterday at St. Louis 6-5, to win 2 of 3 games in the series.

Mickey Moniak hit a solo home run, and it was Hunter Goodman’s 2-run shot in the top of the 9th that made the difference.

The Rocks return to Denver to begin an 8-game homestand today, with 4 games vs. Arizona, followed by 4 games against the LA Dodgers.

First pitch today is scheduled for 6:40pm.
