Sheridan HS Nordic Ski: It’s been one of the warmest winters on record in Wyoming resulting in below average snowfall, but there was just enough on the ground this past weekend for history to be made.

In their 4th year of existence, the Sheridan High School Boys Nordic Ski team, won their first state championship in school history.

The Broncs placed 2 skiers in the top 4 in the 5K Freestyle race on Friday and had 3 in the top 7 in the 10K Classic Race on Saturday at the state meet near Pinedale.

Head Coach Falk Alicke says the season started near Pinedale back in January, but the course for the state meet was both different and more difficult.

On the girls side, senior Kayley Alicke won the 5K race to help the Lady Broncs finish 4th.

She won the 10K race last year.

The State Meet was supposed to be held in Lander, but due to a lack of snow on the ground, it was moved.
