Sheridan HS Grad Texas Tanner Win Discus Event At 2026 USA Track and Field Champiosnhip

A Sheridan High School grad recently threw his way to a National Championship.

Texas Tanner, who graduated from SHS in 2022 and recently from the US Air Force Academy, won the discus event at USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in New York City.

Tanner was 3rd after 3 throws, with a distance of 203 feet 2 inches, but it was enough to place him in the top 9, who were invited back for 3 more.

He made the most of his 2nd chance as he would toss a discus 214 feet 9 inches, to win by more than 4 feet.

Tanner also placed 6th in the hammer throw.

In June, at the NCAA Championships, he placed 2nd in the hammer throw and was 4th in the discus.
