Sheridan/Johnson County HS Basketball: Sheridan and Johnson County High School Basketball teams shook off the rust this past weekend.

The Sheridan Lady Broncs went 1-2 in Cheyenne, while the boys had the weekend off from competition.

4A East Conference play starts this weekend as Sheridan will head back to Cheyenne to play East on Friday and Central on Saturday.

The Big Horn boys went 3-0 in southeast Wyoming, while the girls went 4-0 at home.

The Tongue River boys went 0-3 on the road, while the girls went 2-2 at home.

This coming Thursday, it’s Round 1 as TR visits BH for a girls and boys double-header.

Arvada-Clearmont split Saturday games at Casper Christian, with the girls getting the W.

The Lady Panthers are scheduled to play tomorrow on the road against the Thunder Basin freshman team.

The Buffalo boys went 2-1 in games played in Cheyenne, while the girls were 1-2.

Both the Bison and Lady Bison are scheduled to play on Friday at Douglas and on Saturday at home vs. Rawlins.

Kaycee split a home double-header vs. Meeteetse on Saturday, with the girls winning their game.

The Buckaroos and Lady Buckaroos are scheduled to play 3 games this week.

Thursday at Casper Christian, Friday at home vs. Hulett and on Saturday at home vs. Rock River.

Sheridan HS Wrestling: The Sheridan boys placed 7th out of 27 teams at the Shane Shatto Invitational in Douglas.

Keegan Rager and Braxten Crow each won their respective weight classes.

Crow was named the most outstanding wrestler of the meet.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs are scheduled to host a dual this coming Thursday vs. Natrona County.


Sheridan/Buffalo HS Boys Swimming and Diving: Sheridan placed 2nd out of 5 teams in their own invitational.

Senior Ben Forsythe won 2 races, Eli Anderson won 1 event and the Broncs freestyle relay team won 2 races.

The team is next scheduled to compete this coming Friday and Saturday at Laramie.

Buffalo was 2nd out of 6 teams on Saturday at Powell.

The Bison are next scheduled to swim on Friday and Saturday in Sublette County.

The next competition isn’t until January 30th and 31st at Cody.


Sheridan Hawks/Lady Hawks Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Hawk boys won both games over the weekend at Cheyenne in shutout fashion.

Scores were 8-zip and 6-zip, and the team is now in 1st place in the state B standings.

The Lady Hawks won both games at Casper.

Scores were 5-2 and 8-2.

Both the boys and girls have this coming weekend off from competition.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks lost both games this past weekend at Great Falls.

Scores were 4-1 and 6-5.

The team returns home this coming Friday and Saturday for a 2-game series vs. Bozeman.


University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys lost on Saturday at Nevada 92-83.

The Pokes shot 52% from the field, but the opposition did better at 61%.

Nasir Meyer led the Brown and Gold with 27 points.

Leland Walker added 14, Uriyah Rojas put in 11, and Gavin Gores contributed with 10.

UW is now 11-5 on the season, with a 2-3 record in the Mountain West Conference.

The team is next scheduled to play this coming Wednesday at home vs. San Diego State.

The Wyoming Cowgirls lost at home on Saturday vs. UNLV 82-53.

The ladies only made it to the free throw line 2 times, and their bench was outscored 28-7.

Jane Rumpf had a double-double for UW with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Malene Pedersen scored 16 points as well.

Wyoming is now 4-11 overall and have a 1-5 record in the Mountain West Conference.

The team is next scheduled to play this coming Wednesday at Boise State.


Denver Broncos Football/NFL Playoffs: The Denver Broncos now know which team they will be facing in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.

It’s highest remaining seed vs. lowest remaining seed, and that means Denver will play at home against former University of Wyoming Quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

The game will be played on Saturday, although the official kickoff time will not be announced until tonight.

It will either be at 2:30 or 6pm.

Buffalo is the #6 seed and won yesterday at #3 seed Jacksonville to advance.

The LA Chargers were the #7 seed, but lost last night at #2 New England.

The Patriots will host the winner of tonight’s game, between Houston at Pittsburgh on Sunday.

In the NFC playoffs, San Francisco at Seattle will be the other Saturday game, while the LA Rams at Chicago is set for Sunday.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets split weekend home games, losing on Friday vs. Atlanta 110-87 and won last night vs. Milwaukee 108-104.

The Nuggets are next scheduled to play tomorrow at New Orleans.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won on Saturday at home vs. Columbus 4-zip.

The Avs are next scheduled to play today at home vs. Toronto.

The puck drops at 8pm.
