Sheridan HS Football: The boys of fall have emerged and are on the football field.

Practice for the Sheridan High School Football team as well as all Wyoming 4A teams started yesterday.

The 5-time defending state champs have to replace 25 seniors that graduated from last year and senior Brady Hartman says the first week of practice is to help figure out what they got for this year. 

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says due to the high graduation numbers, the preparation plans for this season will have a different approach.

The first game of the season is scheduled for Friday, August 28th at Rock Springs.

The home opener is the following week on September 4th against Cheyenne South.

As for Big Horn, Tongue River, Buffalo, Kaycee and all other non-4A teams, practice starts next week.

Chris Prosinski Football Camp: Many future hopefuls were on the field to see what they could learn from a former pro.

The 4th annual Chris Prosinski camp took place yesterday at the Buffalo High School Auxiliary Fields.

The camp was designed for those in grades one through eight, and a number of Buffalo High School football players and coaches were on hand to help out. 

Prosinski says for beginners, it can be a nervous experience at first, but it’s the best time to learn how to develop teamwork and try to have some fun.

Prosinkski is a 2006 Buffalo High School grad who helped the Bison win 2 state championships and he is the 2006 Milward-Simpson Award Winner.

He played college football at the University of Wyoming and played 8 years in the NFL.

Next month he is scheduled to be inducted into the UW Athletics Hall of Fame.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost the first game of a 3-game series last night at Arizona 9-zip.

The 2 teams are scheduled to play each other again today, starting at 7:40pm.
