Sheridan County HS Basketball: Sheridan County High School Basketball Teams went a combined 16-7 in various games played this past weekend.
The Sheridan Boys and Girls teams each defeated 3A Wheatland, as well as Riverton and Rock Springs.
Both the Broncs and Lady Broncs are 8-0 on the season.
Big Horn and Tongue River each took on 3A Burns as well as Pine Bluffs, Shoshoni and Thermopolis.
The TR boys went 0-4, while the BH boys went 2-1.
The 4th game was called off due to weather and road concerns.
The Tongue River girls went 4-0 on the weekend, while the Big Horn girls went 3-1.
The Arvada-Clearmont girls won on the road against Casper Christian back on Saturday, while the boys forfeited their game.
This weekend’s schedule goes like this…Sheridan starts 4A East Conference play at home vs. Cheyenne East on Friday and host Cheyenne Central on Saturday.
The Rams and Eagles play each other at TR on Thursday.
A-C will host the Little 6 Invitational this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which will include Midwest, Meeteetse, Dubois, Ten Sleep and Casper Christian.

Sheridan County High School Wrestling: The Sheridan boys placed 4th and the girls were 3rd this past weekend at the Shane Shatto Invitational in Douglas.
Keegan Rager, Kelten Crow, Eva Anderson, Bridgette Price and Becca Oetken each won the bracket in their respective weight classes.
Sheridan is scheduled to host Cody in a dual meet this Thursday, beginning at 6pm, while Tongue River will head to Newcastle on Friday for a 1-day meet.
Sheridan Boys Swimming: Sheridan split duals vs. Douglas and Buffalo back on Friday and then placed 2nd out of 5 teams on Saturday in the Sheridan Invitational.
Junior Ben Forsythe set 2 new school records in the process.
On Friday he broke the 50 meter freestyle record and on Saturday he broke his own record in the 100 meter breaststroke.
This coming weekend, Sheridan is scheduled to compete on Friday at Laramie and on Saturday at Cheyenne East.
Sheridan HS Nordic Ski: Sheridan hosted its first ever meet on Cutler Hill.
Sean-Kyle Taylor and Kayley Alicke each placed 3rd in their respective gender races.
Saturday’s races had to be canceled due to poor weather conditions.
Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks won both home games this past weekend vs. Gillette.
Scores were 7-4 and 6-4.
In Friday’s game, Vincent Leaf scored a hat trick, all in the final 5 minutes of the game.
The Hawks are home again this coming Friday and Saturday against Bozeman.
Sheridan Lady Hawks Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Lady Hawks ran their record to 12-0 on the season with wins at home vs. Cody.
Scores were 9-1 and 11-zip.
Sheridan has this weekend off from competition as the team prepares for a huge road trip the following weekend against Jackson and Pinedale, which is pretty much the battle for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Wyoming Girls Division.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowgirls won at home vs. San Diego State this past Saturday 78-71.
The ladies shot 54% from the field and made it to the free throw line a few more times as they were 19 of 26 from the charity stripe.
Allyson Fertig led the Brown and Gold with 21 points, while Emily Mellema put in 18.
Malene Pedersen put in 13 for the cause.
UW is now 9-7 on the season with a 3-1 record in the Mountain West Conference.
The Cowgirls next play Wednesday at home vs. Nevada.
As for the Wyoming Cowboys, the team had this past weekend off from competition and will play again tomorrow at Boise State.
Denver Broncos Football: The season has come to an end for the Denver Broncos as they were routed at Buffalo yesterday 31-7 in the first round of the playoffs.
Denver scored on the first possession of the game, but it was all Bills after that.
Time of possession was the big factor as Buffalo had a greater than 2-1 margin in that category.
Bronco rookie quarterback Bo Nix was 13 of 22 passing for 144 yards and 1 touchdown toss to Troy Franklin.
Nix would finish the season with 29 touchdown passes, which is just 2 short of the rookie record.
Denver will pick 20th in the NFL draft in late April.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets split games this past weekend, winning on Friday at home vs. Brooklyn 124-105, and losing yesterday at Dallas 112-101.
The Nuggets next play again at Dallas tomorrow.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost on Saturday at Winnipeg 3-zip.
The Avs next play tomorrow at home vs. the New York Rangers.
