WY HS State Track and Field: It didn’t take long for one Big Horn High School sophomore to break a record at the Wyoming High School State Track and Field Meet in Casper, and it just so happens, the record she broke was her own.
For the second year in a row, Sophomore Lyla Marney holds the 2A Girls record in the 3200 meter run.
Her time was 11 minutes 1.06 seconds, as she would crush her old record by more than 21 seconds.
She says this year she’s been focusing more on the mental aspect of long distance running.
Due to the weather in Casper, the schedule of events had to be rearranged.
Any field event that was supposed to start at 4pm yesterday, will now take place at 1pm tomorrow, except for the pole vaulting which is tomorrow at 8:30am.
The preliminary races for the 100 and 110 meter hurdles races that were postponed, will run today at 9am.
