Sheridan HS Boys Soccer: The Sheridan High School Boys Soccer team won the 4A East Regional Tournament this past weekend in Cheyenne.

In the Regional Championship Game, they finally got a win against Cheyenne Central, after enduring last minute tie games in each of the previous 2 encounters.

Head Coach Wade Kinsey says the game was more mental strategy and less so on the plan of attack.

Central’s lone goal was courtesy of the goalie from the other end of the field.

Kinsey says something like that is rare, but he also wasn’t surprised that it happened.

The Broncs are now preparing for the state tournament which starts this coming Thursday at Gillette.

Sheridan opens up with Riverton at 11am.

That game will be played at Thunder Basin High School.

Sheridan HS Girls Soccer: The Sheridan girls are also heading to the state tournament.

The Lady Broncs went 2-1 at last weekend’s regional tournament to place 3rd.

Head Coach Josh Dube recaps the weekend, and explains what the girls have learned.

Sheridan plays in the first game of the state tournament on Thursday at 9am against defending 4A State Champ Jackson.

That game will be played at Campbell County High School.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Track and Field: The state meet also starts on Thursday in Casper.

The Sheridan boys will try to 3-peat as 4A State Champs and make it 5 of the last 6, while the Big Horn boys aim to 4-peat in the 2A ranks.

The Buffalo boys, who recently won the 3A East Regional Meet, have only won the state title twice, and the last one was way back in 1980.

The Lady Bison have won it all 3 times, and it’s been awhile for them as well…1985 to be exact.

Competition at Kelly Walsh High School begins a 2pm on Thursday, and 9am on both Friday and Saturday.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won the first game of a 3-game series at home against Texas last night 7-6.

The Rocks and Rangers are scheduled to play each other again today, starting at 6:40pm.

NHL Playoffs: Montreal needed overtime, but got the Game 7 win last night at Buffalo 3-2, to win their second round series 4 games to 3, and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Canadiens will travel to Carolina to play Game 1 of their best of 7 series on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche host Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against Las Vegas tomorrow.

The puck drops at 6pm.

NBA Playoffs: San Antonio would prevail in Game 1 of the best of 7 Western Conference Finals, winning at Oklahoma City 122-115 in double overtime.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow.

Today is Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals as Cleveland visits New York.

Tip off is scheduled for 6pm.
