Olivia Hardesty of Sheridan HS To Run Track At US Air Force Academy: A Sheridan High School sprinter will continue to run while serving the country at the same time.

Olivia Hardesty has signed her notice of intent to join the track and field team at the US Air Force Academy, near Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She is last year’s 4A Girls State Runner-Up in the 100 meter dash, and was nominated for the Academy by Wyoming US Senator John Barrasso earlier this year.

Hardesty says she was originally leaning towards a different sport, but then fate dealt its hand and it worked out for the better.

Hardesty adds she is considering majoring in either legal or political studies. 


Sheridan HS Track and Field: Several Sheridan High School competitors went up against some of the best of the best last week in the Wyoming Track Classic in Casper.

Among those who finished 1st was Cole Bunting in the boys pole vault.

He says it wasn’t his best performance, but he’ll take it, and there’s time to do better.

Loralai Ketner finished 1st in the girls 300 meter hurdles.

She says there’s 3 weeks to go in the season and the main focus now is to not overdo things.

There is a little bit of track and field action today at Big Horn beginning at 5:15pm.

The meet is for throwers, jumpers and relay runners.


Sheridan HS Soccer: This is the last week of the regular season for 4A teams.

Sheridan is in action today against Campbell County.

The boys are on the road, while the girls play their home finale.

On Friday, the Broncs are scheduled to play Thunder Basin with the boys game at home, and the girls game in Gillette.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost the first game of a 3-game series at home against the New York Mets 4-2.

The 2 teams are scheduled to play each other again today, starting at 6:40pm.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The Colorado Avalanche host Game 2 of their second round best of 7 series today vs. Minnesota.

The puck drops at 6pm, and the Avs lead the series 1-game to none.

In yesterday’s playoff games, Las Vegas won Game 1 at home vs. Anaheim 3-1.

Carolina prevailed in Game 2 at home vs. Philadelphia 3-2 in overtime, to move ahead 2-zip in the series.


NBA Playoffs: Minnesota continues to surprise the league, by winning Game 1 of their second round best of 7 series last night at San Antonio 104-102.

Elsewhere, New York cruised in Game 1 at home vs. Philadelphia 137-98.
