Sheridan HS Football: The first week of 2-a-day practices for the Sheridan High School football team is almost done.
Bronc players were allowed to put on the pads yesterday and next week will be another week of 2-a-days before both school and the season starts.
Senior Brady Hartman says the plan this week was to figure out who can bring what to the team and then start working on how to make it all work.
Head Coach Jeff Mowry says it’s way too early to start thinking about the first game, which is 2 weeks from today, because the team is still working on putting its own game plan together.
The first game is at Rock Springs, and the home opener is the following week on September 4th vs. Cheyenne South.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Golf: The Sheridan boys placed 1st out of 5 teams in their own meet, held the past 2 days at Kendrick Golf Course.
Gavin Reed finished 1st on the boys side.
For the girls, Addie Bettinger of Buffalo and Hannah Barnes of Sheridan placed 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Meanwhile, Easton Lewis of Tongue River finished 8th on the boys side at the Powell Invitational.
Sheridan is next scheduled to play next week Thursday and Friday at Casper, while Buffalo plays on Monday and Tuesday at Worland.
Tongue River is next at Sundance, one week from today.
Big Horn is scheduled to start their season today at a 1-day meet at Upton.
Sheridan HS Tennis: Sheridan starts the season tomorrow at a Jamboree in Casper.
The first home meet is scheduled for next week Wednesday against both Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East.
The Broncs are the defending state champs.
Remaining Fall Sports About To Start Practice: Those fall sports that have not started practice yet are about to do so on Monday.
This includes all non-4A football teams, such as Big Horn, Tongue River, Buffalo and Kaycee.
Practice also starts on Monday for all classes of volleyball, cross country and girls swimming.
Competition for those sports can start 2 weeks from today.
Denver Broncos Pre-Season Football: The Denver Broncos start the pre-season portion of their schedule today with a game at Atlanta.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.

Denver’s next game is one week from today at home vs. Green Bay.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies start a 3-game series today at San Francisco.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:15pm.
Tomorrow and Sunday’s games start at 2:05pm.
After that, the Rocks will start a 6-game homestand on Monday, with 3 games vs. the LA Dodgers, followed by 3 games vs. Cleveland.
