New AD Named For Sheridan High School: A former Sheridan High School Coach will soon take over the reins of the activities department at the School.

Kyle Warnke has been named the new Activities Director beginning July 1st, 2026.

He is a former Basketball Coach at Sheridan High School and is currently a 5th grade teacher at Highland Park Elementary.

Warnke says he’s been in and around the Bronc program so many times, he might as well give one of the top jobs a try.

As for current AD Kasey Garnhart, he is leaving the position to move his family to Laramie, because his wife was recently named the new executive director of the Wyoming Association for Career and Technical Education.

He says things at Sheridan High School are just as good if not better since he took over as AD in 2022, following Don Julian’s retirement.

Garnhart adds there has been a high level of expectation based on the recent overall success of the Sheridan High School Activities programs, but things have found a way to make sure it doesn’t get too high.

Garnhart says once he and his family move to Laramie, he’s planning to start work in medical sales.

Sheridan HS Softball: There has been a change to this week’s schedule.

Sheridan is still planning to head to Worland on Thursday (April 16th), but the start times have been moved up to 10am and 12-noon, instead of 2 and 4pm.

The reason is so that the Lady Broncs and Lady Warriors can get their games in, before the approaching weather system hits the area.

The team, through the Sheridan Rec District, is hosting a softball camp this coming Saturday at the Sheridan College Softball Complex for those in kindergarten through 8th grade.

Sheridan HS Boys and Girls Soccer: The Sheridan boys and girls are back in action today as the teams take on Thunder Basin.

The boys game is on the road, and the girls play at home.

Both games are scheduled to begin at 6pm.

Recently, the boys won at Cheyenne East and tied at Cheyenne Central.

Head Coach Wade Kinsey says that’s almost never an easy road trip, but he’s pleased with the results, because back-to-back games like that on the road, tend to help pay off when the post season gets here.

Meanwhile, the girls won their first 2 home games of the season this past weekend and remain undefeated.

Senior Sydney Zebrowski says the team is trying a new strategy this year and is widening their range of attack.

Today’s game is the only game this week for the Lady Broncs.

The boys are scheduled to play again on Thursday at home vs. Campbell County.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at Edmonton 2-1, winning via shootout 3-2.

The Avs are next scheduled to play today at Calgary, starting at 7pm.
