Arvada-Clearmont Boys Basketball: A win is a win, no matter how you get it, or which team you beat!

This past Tuesday (February 11th), the Arvada-Clearmont varsity boys basketball team scored at the buzzer, to win on the road against a Campbell County Freshmen team, 35-32.

It marks the first win for the Panthers, against any opponent, since December 17th, 2020.

Since that last win, A-C has been on a state record, 90-game losing streak.

The old record was 63 set by Kemmerer from 1986-1989.

According to A-C Coach Justin Kidneigh, for the 2 seniors on this season’s team (Ian Andreen and Caden Manor), it’s their first win ever…middle or high school.

Arvada-Clearmont plays today at home vs. Upton.

The girls game is scheduled to tip off at 6pm and the boys game will follow.


Sheridan County High School Wrestling: Two big meets will be taking place in Sheridan County today.

Tongue River is hosting the 2A Northeast Conference Dual Meet.

Competition is scheduled to begin at 11am.

Other teams involved will be Moorcroft, Sundance, Hulett, Upton and Wright.

Later on, Sheridan will host a dual vs. Thunder Basin in their home finale.

Varsity competition is scheduled to begin at 6pm.

The Bolts are the defending 4A State Champs. 


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The leading scorer for the Sheridan Hawks will play at the collegiate level next season.

Josh Serino, who is also the leading scorer in the NA3HL, has committed to play for the State University of New York at Fredonia, which is an NCAA Division 3 team.

The school is in the southwest corner of New York State on I-90, southwest of Buffalo.

The forward from Utqiagvik, Alaska has 37 goals and 36 assists on the season.

Hawk fans can see him play this weekend, as Sheridan plays a 2-game series at Gillette.

The team is back at home on February 28th and March 1st.


University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys led nearly the entire first half last night at New Mexico, was up by 13 at one point, led by 10 at halftime, and then things fell apart early in the second half and the team ended up losing 71-67.

The Pokes shot nearly 54% for the game and nearly 54% from 3 point land, but free throws made a difference.

UW was 4 of 14 from the charity stripe, while the Lobos were 18 of 34.

Fast break points made a difference as well, as New Mexico won the category, 23-2.

For the Brown and Gold, Obi Agbim led the way with 22 points, while AJ Willis scored 12 off of the bench.

Cole Henry contributed with 10 points of his own.

Wyoming is now 11-14 on the season with a 4-10 record in the Mountain West Conference.

This Saturday is the Border War Round 2 in Fort Collins.

The Wyoming Cowgirls took care of business last night as they won at home vs. Air Force, 64-56.

About 80% of UW’s scoring came from either Allyson Fertig or Melene Pedersen.

Fertig had a double-double with 30 points and 15 rebounds, while Pedersen scored 20 points of her own.

The Cowgirls are now 15-9 on the season with a 9-3 record in the Mountain West Conference.

Their next game is this coming Saturday at home vs. San Jose State.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won last night at home vs. Portland 132-121.

The Nuggets have a record of 36-19 heading into this weekend’s All-Star break and next play one week from today at home vs. Charlotte.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: Today is the day that things get started on the diamond.

Pitchers and catchers for the Colorado Rockies report today and the rest of the team will join them next week Tuesday.

The first exhibition game is scheduled for one week from tomorrow and the regular season starts on Friday, March 28th.
