The Sheridan Hawks handled business away from home, completing another weekend sweep with two wins over the Yellowstone Quake.

It was an important weekend for Sheridan as they worked to keep their narrow lead in 1st place in the Frontier Division.

The Hawks headed into Quake territory on Friday for their road test.

The start was a little tough when in the opening period the Quake would strike first with a breakaway goal despite being outshot 4-1 in the 1st.

The Hawks recovered from the temporary setback and got on the board with a goal from Timothy Vaculik, Ernie Allena and Jeff Slivon picking up the assist.

Just 2 minutes later Zachary Marsell scored for the Hawks to give them the lead, Vlad Zubriichuk getting the assist.

The Hawks continued to grow their lead with a goal from Max Krueger, Vincent Leaf and Charles Stow with the assist.

In the second period the Hawks would keep their momentum going with another goal from Timothy Vaculik, Caden Gleason with the assist. Zachary Marsell would then score his second goal of the night, Vlad Zubriichuk with another assist, and Daniel Shelden getting an assist.

In the final period, the Quake would score one last time, but it was too little too late, and the Hawks defeated the Quake 5-2.

Saturday proved to be a little tougher for the Hawks despite gaining a solid lead in the 2nd period.

In the opening period both teams would go scoreless, 0-0 tie heading into the second period.

In the second period, the Hawks would capitalize on a 5 minute Quake major to soar ahead.

Sheridan got on the board first with a goal from Deagan Watson, Vincent Leaf picking up the assist.

Just 26 seconds later, Jameson Clark would score for the Hawks, Deagan Watson and Easton Langemo with the assist.

Just a few minutes later the Hawks put another in the twine to extend their lead to 3 points, Vincent Leaf scoring, Max Krueger with an assist and Deagan Watson getting his second assist.

All three goals on the extended power play.

The Quake would then finally answer with a goal near the end of the frame to narrow the lead.

The Hawks would answer back though, with Easton Langemo scoring, Zachary Marsell and Timothy Vaculik picking up the assist to head in to the intermission with a 4-1 lead.

In the final period, the Quake would try to make it a game, scoring one at the 16 minute mark.

The Hawks took a double minor penalty at 2:21 and had to end the game on the penalty kill.

With just less than a minute left, the Quake would make it a one point game on the power play.

But that was all they could muster, even after pulling their goalie to gain a two main advantage, and the Hawks would hold on to win over the Quake 4-3.

The Hawks return home next weekend for their last two games of the regular season, once more facing off against Yellowstone.

The Hawks hold on to their two point lead over the Helena Bighorns as of now, and next weekend will determine who be the regular season Frontier Division Champions.

Regardless of that, the Hawks will be the higher seed in the first round of the division playoffs as they are 9 points ahead of the 3rd place Great Falls Americans and 18 points ahead of the current 4th place Badlands Sabres.

The first round of playoffs for the Hawks will be on the road on Wednesday the 11th and then home on Friday the 13th and if needed Saturday night as well.

Next weekend is also the Hawks Billet and Player Family Appreciation Weekend where they thank and recognize all the great families that are part of the Hawks hockey family.
