Sheridan WYO Rodeo: Last night was the first rodeo performance of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo as the rough stock part of the competition got underway.
In the bareback riding, Owen Brouillette of Louisiana, had the high score with 85 ½ points riding Cinch On Fire.
In the saddle bronc riding, 2 riders had a score of 87 ½ points.
Those 2 were Houston Brown of Miles City, Montana and Shorty Garrett from Eagle Butte, South Dakota.
In the Steer Wrestling, Mason Couch of Missouri, Tyler Scheevel of Minnesota, and Seth Peterson of North Dakota all threw one down in 4.6 seconds.
For Tie-down Roping, Brey Yore got ‘er done in 8.9 seconds.
In the Team Roping, 2 teams turned in a time of 6.5 seconds.
For the ladies, Libby Winchell of Casper was the fastest at 3 seconds flat in the breakaway roping and it was BryAnna Haluptzok of Oklahoma who was the fastest last night in barrel racing with a time of 17.25 seconds.
If you are a fan of the bulls, then last night was a good night.
Final score: Bulls 6, Riders nothing.
Today, there are a few big names scheduled to compete, but that does not mean they will show.
Among the names are saddle bronc rider Brody Cress of Hillsdale, Wyoming who won the Cody Stampede last week.
Ryder Wright, who is a 3-time and the defending world champ in saddle bronc riding.
If you go to the slack round at 8am today, you might be able to see Riley Webb, who is the 2-time defending world champ in tie-down roping.
Today’s rodeo performance is scheduled to begin at 7pm and it’s Pink Night.
Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers are back in action this weekend with a total of 3 home games.
Tomorrow’s scheduled double-header vs. the Billings Scarlets has been canceled, but the 406 Flyers out of Billings will take their place and play 1 9-inning game, starting at 1pm.
On Sunday, Sheridan is scheduled to take on the Billings Royals in a double-header, beginning at 1pm.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were swept at Boston, losing last night 10-2.
Kyle Farmer’s 2-run home run was the only offense for the team.
Today is an off-day and then tomorrow the Rocks will start a 3-game series at Cincinnati.
