UW vaccine incentive program experiences successful inception
The University of Wyoming released information regarding the inception of its Vaccination Incentive Program on July 9. This program places the names of students who have uploaded their vaccine information into a weekly drawing.
The incentive program has proven successful, as of July 19, 2,231 individual students had reported receiving at least one dose of a COVID vaccine on the Student Health Service portal — up from 1,814 reported on July 12, and up from 1,665 before the incentive program was announced July 9.
According to UW’s Director of Institutional Communications Chad Baldwin, students who are unable to be vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons may participate in the drawings by completing a vaccination exemption form found on the Student Health Service website.
Baldwin told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, while vaccinations are not required for UW students and employees, they’re strongly encouraged, with the goal to hold a more traditional in-person Fall semester.
To upload documentation to the Student Health Service patient portal, take a photo of the vaccination document and upload the picture here: http://patientportal.uwyo.edu, using the regular UW user ID and password. This is the same portal where students report their mandatory vaccination for measles, mumps and rubella, vaccinations that are required by the university.
