SCSD#3 Ready for School Year

At the August 12 meeting of the SCSD#3 Board of Trustees, James Seckman with Seckman & Thomas, Certified Public Accountants, PC, presented a virtual talk on the district’s 2025–2026 audit.

He said the district was mostly compliant, the only item he mentioned that he saw as a significant deficiency was the segregation of duties.

There were three administrative reports.

Technology Assistant Director Tim Rowe said this about the school’s technology.

Maintenance Director Mr. Eisenman said he had lost one team member but had a recommendation to hire another one if the board approves, and that the grounds are shaping up for fall. “We will have it looking spectacular by the time school starts,” he said.

Food Service Director and Business Manager Greg Rohrer said that there were few expenditures over the summer so there are sufficient funds for the upcoming year.

There were three purchases exceeding $5,000.00; Clear Creek Recreation District, $25,000.00; VRM, Inc for $6,804.38 and Sheridan Floor to Ceiling, $8,368.05 for carpeting in the rentals.

There are two upcoming dates for community engagement. Today, August 13, there will be the annual Back to School BBQ and Open House on the lawn of the school from 4:00-6:30 p.m. In case of rain, the BBQ will be moved inside.

Then on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 there will be the Community Lunch at 11:30 a.m. at the school.

Although there were several action items on the agenda, these were not addressed in the meeting.

September board work session and meeting will be held on the following dates; work session will be held on September 8, at 6:00 p.m., board meeting will be September 9, at 6:00 p.m.
