Mayor Schock Signs Certificate of Completion on Water Well #3

At Monday night’s Clearmont Town Council meeting, Mayor Chris Schock signed the Certificate of Final Completion on Water Well #3, which has been an ongoing project for several years. Dave Engels, of Engineering Associates, told the Council that the well is now finished.

There was an extensive discussion about the meters on the wells, and it was concluded that the meters were working good enough to measure the flow of water in the wells.

One of the visitors at the meeting was Jennifer Strong, the new superintendent at SCSD#3 School. Shock introduced her and asked if she wanted to say a few words about her new position in Clearmont. School in Clearmont started on Monday, August 17.

The town will be purchasing a new computer soon, and they will switch to the new ClerkBooks program from September 28 – Oct 9.

In his mayor’s report, Schock talked about the WYDOT construction,

Maintenance man Pete Bassett said the water will have to be shut off to the school soon to hook the water line up, but Strong said they plan to do it this Friday, when school is not in session.

Shock also mentioned the newest business in Clearmont, the Mill Iron Market, which will be a coffee/sandwich shop located a mile west of town, which is scheduled to open in a few weeks. Several council members expressed hope that it would open soon. Currently, Sabrina Rhoades, owner, is serving cinnamon rolls and sour dough bread at the Vintiques business at 3728 Highway 14/16, Clearmont, on weekends.

The feral cat spay/neuter program is tentative at this time.

He also read a thank you card from Cheryl Roebling and Joanie Kiser.

The council also voted to put an ad up in the library, the post office and the town hall asking for anyone interested in the open town council position. Council members must be a resident of the town of Clearmont.

Dave Kinskey Former Wyoming State Senator will be the guest at Shelby’s Coffee Hour on Wednesday August 19 at 9 a.m. at the town hall. Kinskey is now on the board of the Wyoming Business Council, and he will discuss housing in the area. This is a great time to bring ideas and concerns about our town.
