SCLT Joins Access Yes Program

The Sheridan Community Land Trust has announced the 501c3 is partnering with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to provide public hunting access through the Access Yes program.

According to SCLT, the Big Goose Hunter Management Area opens access to a portion of the property that is not otherwise available to the public, creating another opportunity for people to connect with the land while supporting responsible stewardship.

For regular users of the trail, no change is needed. The hunting area and BGNA’s public trails are in separate parts of the property and do not overlap. Hunting is not permitted on the public trails, and users can continue to walk, run, bike and enjoy the trails.

Because the BGNA is used in so many different ways, hunting in the area is more restrictive than in other locations such as Red Grade Trails. Wyoming Game and Fish manages hunting access, including permission slips, seasons, designated access and specific rules for the Hunter Management Area.

SCLT reports new signage at the BGNA helps clearly identify hunting access and keep hunters within the designated area.
