Sunset Wagon Tours at Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site
Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site is offering a unique experience in partnership with Moon Hitch Wagon Company through Sunset History Wagon Tours.
During the golden hours of sunset, visitors will have the opportunity to see the fort from the seat of a horse-drawn wagon as guides take them through the property outside of the fort to share more history about fort life.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, State Historic Site Superintendent Sharie Shada said the partnership offers visitors a way to connect to history by riding in a horse drawn wagon in much the same way residents of the fort did.

Visitors will discover how the fort was built to protect travelers and miners who dared to journey along the “Bloody Bozeman” Trail on their way to the Montana gold fields, why the territory was so fiercely contested and what makes this location important today.
