SA&RC: Serving Residents of All Genders, Ages and Background
The Advocacy and Resource Center in Sheridan provides free, confidential assistance to victims of violent crime throughout Sheridan County.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Assistant Director Rhonda Weber said over the course of the last two months, the center assisted 136 primary and secondary victims of crime with domestic and family violence still being the highest victimization.
Executive Director Yvonne Shirey said the center works with not only victims of domestic and family violence, but sexual assault, stalking, non-domestic assaults and other violent crimes.

Advocates help primary victims as well as secondary victims, such as family members affected by a crime. The services offered by the center include crisis intervention, safety planning, emergency shelter, assistance with protection orders, court accompaniment and connections to valuable community resources.
Advocates work with individuals at their pace, without pressure to take any kind of action and serve with commitment to stand beside individuals until they feel ready to move on from the center, even if that takes years.
