Council Study Session

The Council, at their last regularly scheduled business meeting on March 16, on a vote of 4-3, elected to remove from the agenda an ordinance proposed by Sheridan Mayor Roger Miller to amend the salaries of the council members and the mayor’s position. The ordinance proposed by the mayor would amend the salary of the mayor’s position from $24,000 to $48,000 annually and the council members from $6,000 to $12,000 annually. The change in compensation would not be for the sitting mayor or council members, only newly elected positions.

During the virtual study session, the Council once again discussed the ordinance, with Councilman Clint Beaver speaking in favor of moving forward with the ordinance.
