New Data Reveals How Families are Fairing Throughout Wyoming

The Wyoming Community Foundation has released a comprehensive, county-by-county data piece titled “Family and Childhood Well-Being in Wyoming.” Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
According to a media release from the Wyoming Community Foundation, the publication sheds light on various indicators that evaluate the well-being of families across the state and includes a feature on hunger in Wyoming, an issue that has become more troubling since the pandemic. Associate Director of Policy at the Wyoming Women’s Foundation, a priority fund of the Wyoming Community Foundation, Micah Richardson, says the publication, funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, provides reliable data that can help spark conversations and drive actions. She said using data to gain insight and guide decisions is critical to making positive change in Wyoming and this publication tells the story of Wyoming families, through data, and can be used to make positive change.
The publication evaluates four broad areas and 19 indicators, based on data available at the county level, to provide insight on the health of the state. The four areas include family structure, healthcare, income and poverty, and food insecurity. You can view the full report here.
