Science Kids is a Sheridan-based nonprofit that has provided outdoor science education opportunities for children across northcentral Wyoming since 2009.

The 501(c)(3)’s mission is to inspire curiosity and lifelong connections to science by getting kids outdoors for hands-on learning experiences. With summer right around the corner, Science Kids is about to enter its busiest time of year as their summer class offerings are set to begin on June 15.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Science Kids Board Chair Molly Kinsey said Science Kids offers summer classes for students ages 6 to 14, covering subjects (with new subjects added each year) ranging from solar science to nature journaling, with classes taught by local educators and experts.

Through the partnership with the Sheridan Community Land Trust, the public series of “Unplug” events bring the wonder of learning science to all ages.

All Unplug programs are free and open to the public to attend. The next Unplug will feature a bat walk with Mason Lee of UW Biodiversity Institute on June 21. Find details here.
