After Dark lecture will explore life of Edward Gillette
The next History After Dark lecture, presented by the Museum at the Bighorns, will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.
The museum’s collections manager, Jessica Salzman, will present “Edward Gillette: A New Englander Comes West.” Learn about how Edward Gillette left his mark on Sheridan’s history and how the city of Gillette got its name.
During a recent appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Salzman told listeners that Gillette was pivotal to the development of the railroad that would come to change the face of Sheridan and northern Wyoming.
The HAD series is an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to hear from local Sheridan historians speak on local people and events that may contain historical controversy or more adult themes.
The event is free for museum members and $5 per non-member.
The museum is located at 850 Sibley Circle. Visit the museum or call 307-675-1150 to learn more about becoming a member.
