Pat BlairTrustees of Sheridan County School District 2 awarded bids Monday night for new furniture for Sagebrush Elementary School and the Sheridan High School Science Wing.
Both the school and the science wing are currently undergoing renovations.
The bid for the Sagebrush school furniture was a little under $534,000, with most of that – nearly $435,000 going to Top Office Products of Sheridan. Other companies that will receive a share of the funds are Wyoming Office Products of Casper, OfficeScapes of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Virco Inc. of Torrence, Calif.
New furniture for the high school science wing will cost a little under $78,000, with those funds split between Top Office Products and OfficeScapes.
In other action Monday, School District 2 trustees accepted a donation of $5,000 from the Sheridan High School Booster Club. The funds will help pay for the new sound system in the high school gym.
Trustees also recognized Woodland Park Elementary School Principal Allie Vold and school nurse Noele Mena for their swift response last week when a student walking toward the school entrance collapsed due to a heart condition.
