Smash ‘Em Don’t Trash ‘Em in Fourth Year

The Fourth Annual City of Sheridan Fall Pumpkin Festival was held at Sheridan High School this Saturday, November 2, where the entire community was invited to smash, trash, and launch their pumpkins across the parking lot.

The day was cool and cloudy, and a good crowd came out to the high school to launch the pumpkins on the giant slingshot into the dumpster for easier clean up or smash the pumpkins with a big hammer or a baseball bat.

There were prizes, and free pumpkin t-shirts and hats. Seliena Parker, City of Sheridan’s Recycling & Solid Waste Coordinator, explained about the event.

Inside the high school were fall games, such as a fishpond, ‘stack the pumpkins’, pin the stem on the pumpkin, as well as an obstacle course, and a bean bag toss along with other fun activities and lots of prizes.

The event was sponsored by several Sheridan-area organizations, including the Sheridan Recreation District, who set up an obstacle course for youngsters. McKoy Feland of Sheridan Rec District,
