Sheridan HS Football: The Sheridan High School Football team tuned up for the playoffs this past Friday and did so by winning at home vs. Laramie 38-14.

With the win, the Broncs’ push their state record win streak up to 52, and set another state record by winning their 32nd consecutive game at home.

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says the team was able to get all the reserves involved at various times in the game and giving them that little bit of varsity experience, can pay off at any time down the road.

The 4A Playoffs start this Friday.

Sheridan hosts Kelly Walsh beginning at 6pm.

Other first round games have Cheyenne Central at Natrona County, Thunder Basin at Cheyenne East and Laramie at Campbell County.


Big Horn/Tongue River HS Football: Big Horn scored on their first 8 possessions on Friday night and added in 1 score on defense, to beat Upton-Sundance at home 62-14.

Cruz Hernandez scored 4 times for the Rams who are 8-0 on the season and on a 19-game win streak.

BH starts the 2A playoffs this coming Friday at home vs. Cokeville starting at 1pm.

Other 2A playoff matchups have Burns at Thermopolis, Lovell at Newcastle and Glenrock at Mountain View.

Meanwhile, Tongue River lost their season finale back on Friday at Glenrock 57-14.

The Eagles finish the season with a record of 1-7.


Johnson County HS Football: Buffalo lost their home finale this past Friday vs. Lander 42-3, but qualified for the playoffs, when Torrington lost at home vs. Douglas.

The Bison will play in the first round of the 3A playoffs this Friday at Star Valley, starting at 3pm.

Kaycee’s season came to an end last week with a 53-38 loss at home vs. Ten Sleep.

The Buckaroos finish with a record of 1-6.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Volleyball: The regular season ended this past weekend for all teams.

Sheridan closed out their schedule with a 3-2 win at Campbell County to secure the #3 seed at the upcoming 4A East Regional Tournament, which is this coming Friday and Saturday at Thunder Basin.

Big Horn defeated Sundance at home 3-1 on Friday.

The Lady Rams host the 2A East Regional Tournament and will have a first round bye.

They will await the winner between Pine Bluffs and Wright.

Tongue River won their home finale vs. Wright 3-zip back on Friday.

The Lady Eagles have the #3 seed in the upcoming regional tournament at BH.

TR plays in the first round on Friday vs. Moorcroft at 10am.

For the upcoming 1A East Regional Tournament, Arvada-Clearmont and Kaycee will play each other in a play-in game today at 6pm at A-C.

The winner moves onto the regional tournament that will be played at Buffalo.

The loser is done for the season.

Meanwhile, Buffalo lost both games last week at home vs. Douglas and at Newcastle.

The Lady Bison will carry the #6 seed to the 3A East Regional Tournament to be played in Rawlins.

Buffalo will rematch Newcastle in the first round starting at 11:45am.

State Cross Country: Two of the six State Championship trophies now reside in Sheridan County.

At the state meet in Cheyenne this past Saturday, the Sheridan boys won their second 4A state title, while the Big Horn girls brought home their first crown in school history.

Sophomore Lyla Marney repeated as the 2A Girls State Champ.

The Tongue River girls and Buffalo boys finished as State Runners-Up.

Individually for the Bison, Ethan Rayo is the 3A Boys State Champ.

Sheridan/Buffalo HS Girls Swimming and Diving: Sheridan placed tied for 3rd at the 4A East Conference Meet held in Gillette, while Buffalo won the 3A North Conference Meet held in Powell.

The state meet is next week, Thursday through Saturday in Laramie.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks split road games this past weekend, losing at Great Falls 3-1, and winning at Butte 5-2.

The team will start an 8-game homestand this weekend and will take on Bozeman this Friday and Helena on Saturday.


University of Wyoming Football: The Bronze Boot is back in Wyoming, as the Cowboys shutout Colorado State at home 28-zip.

Quarterback Kaden Anderson was 16 of 24 passing for 154 yards and 2 TD passes. 

One to Michael Fitzgerald, the other to Chris Durr Junior.

Landon Sims and Sam Scott each scored TD’s on the ground.

The Pokes defense came up with 3 interceptions.

With the win the Brown and Gold even up their record at 4-4 and have a 2-2 record in the Mountain West Conference.

UW next plays this coming Saturday at San Diego State.


University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys won their second exhibition game back on Saturday by a score of 111-63 against the College of Idaho, who are last season’s NAIA National Champs.

For the game, the Pokes shot 56% from the field.

Nasir Meyer led the team with 18 points, while Damarion Dennis and Khaden Bennett each put in a dozen, and Uriyah Rojas contributed with 11.

The Cowboys play their first regular season game, one week from today at home vs. Northern State, located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

The Wyoming Cowgirls won their exhibition game on Friday at home vs. Fort Lewis College 54-51.

The ladies play one more exhibition game this coming Friday at home vs. Colorado Christian.


Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos took care of business yesterday at home vs. the Dallas Cowboys 44-24.

Quarterback Bo Nix was 19 of 29 passing for 247 yards and 4 TD tosses.

Catching those passes were Troy Franklin twice, along with Pat Bryant, and RJ Harvey, who also scored 2 other touchdowns on the ground.

The Broncos next play this coming Sunday at Houston.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won their home opener back on Saturday vs. Phoenix, 133-111.

The Nuggets next play today at Minnesota, starting at 7:30pm.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost both games on the road this past weekend.

The team lost on Saturday at Boston 3-2, and lost yesterday at New Jersey 4-3 in overtime.

The Avs and Devils rematch tomorrow in Denver.


World Series Baseball: Toronto and the LA Dodgers split the first 2 games at Toronto.

The Blue Jays won Game 1 on Friday 11-4, but the Dodgers won Game 2 5-1.

Game 3 is today at LA.

First pitch is scheduled for 6pm.
