Sheridan HS Football: It’s time to kickoff the 2026 Wyoming High School football season, and the 5-time defending 4A State Champ Sheridan Broncs are getting their longest road trip out of the way first.
The team opens the season against a Rock Springs team that missed last year’s playoffs.
Head Coach Jeff Mowry says the Tigers brought something different to the table last year that Sheridan almost could not handle, and he expects a similar attack plan from the opposition.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.

Big Horn/Tongue River/Buffalo HS Football: Big Horn is at home today for a scrimmage vs. 3A Cody beginning at 6pm.
Tongue River will play Pinedale at 2pm in Riverton.
Buffalo is at home for a scrimmage tomorrow vs. 2A Lovell, starting at 11am.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Volleyball: The High School Volleyball season also gets started and a lot of teams will play 4-6 games over the course of today and tomorrow.
Sheridan is in Cheyenne and today they will take on Star Valley, Riverton and Green River.
Tomorrow the Lady Broncs go up against 2A Pine Bluffs, and Campbell County in a non-quadrant game.
Big Horn and Buffalo will both be at the Douglas Invitational.
The Rams will play 3 today vs. 3A Newcastle, Scottsbluff, Nebraska and 3A Wheatland, while the Lady Bison take on 2A Sundance, Gering, Nebraska and Glenrock.
Tomorrow’s schedule and opponents are dependent on today’s results.
Tongue River begins their first season in Class 3A at the Lander Invitational.
The Lady Eagles play the host team, as well as 1A Farson-Eden today, and will challenge Pinedale and Worland tomorrow.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Golf: Big Horn and Tongue River host a 1-day meet at Kendrick Golf Course today, starting at 9am.
Buffalo will conclude a 2-day meet today at Cody, while Sheridan has the weekend off from competition.
Sheridan HS Tennis: Sheridan is on the road for 3 North Conference matchups.
The defending state champ Broncs, as well as the Lady Broncs are at Jackson today, and also play tomorrow at Powell and at Cody.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Cross Country: The Cross Country season also starts, and all Sheridan and Johnson County High School teams run today.
Sheridan is at the Casper Invitational, while Big Horn, Tongue River and Buffalo will all head to a meet in Billings.
Sheridan/Buffalo HS Girls Swimming: Sheridan starts the season at a 2-day meet today and tomorrow at Laramie, while Buffalo will visit the pool in Rawlins.
Denver Broncos Pre-Season Football: The Denver Broncos are scheduled to play their final pre-season game today at home vs. Minnesota.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm and you can hear the game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.
All teams have to cut their rosters down to 53 players by 4pm Mountain Time, this coming Sunday.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies ended up settling for a 4-game series split at Washington, after losing yesterday’s game 7-1.
That is loss #82 on the season for the Rocks, meaning the team will finish with a losing record for the 8th consecutive year.
The team has also been mathematically eliminated from winning the NL West, although Colorado is still alive in the NL wild card chase.
The Rockies begin a 3-game series today at Atlanta.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:15pm.
Tomorrow’s game starts at 2:10pm and Sunday’s game at 11:35am.
