Wyoming H.S. Grad Rate Improves for Seventh Straight Year

Wyoming’s high school graduation rates improved for the seventh consecutive year, increasing to 82.3% in 2019-2020, according to information released by the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE).

In the release it was reported that 18 school districts in the state posted graduation rated of 90% or higher, including Sheridan County School District #1 at 92.3%; and Sheridan County School District #3 at 90.0%.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow said, “When we work hand-in-hand with our school districts to make sure every student can succeed, good things happen. Wyoming continues to set high standards for our graduates, which is reflected in our plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act, and evidenced in the graduation rate increase. That it’s our seventh-consecutive year for an increase demonstrates that our plans, our partnerships, are working.”

Sheridan County School District #2 posted a graduation rate of 80.6%, while Johnson County School District #1 had a rate of 82.3% in 2019-2020.
