Visitors to the Nation’s First National Park decreased in June 2026, compared to June 2025, and if the trend continues, this year may not be a record breaking year.

The park reports there was a total of 903,025 recreational visits in June 2026.

Those numbers are down 1% compared to June 2021 (938,845), which was the busiest June on record.

Year to date numbers for 2026 as of the end of June are at 1,676,678, which is ahead of the pace in 2021 (1,587,998), but behind last year’s pace (1,690,922).

Historically, June, July and August tend to be the busiest months at the park.

The yearly record belongs to 2021 which saw 4.86 million visits, while last year was the second busiest, with more than 4.763 million.
