WHP: No Major Interstate or Highway Incidents During Wyo Rodeo Week

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is reminding motorists to stay alert as summer travel continues following another busy WYO Rodeo week in Sheridan. 

The annual rodeo and ancillary events draw thousands of visitors to the community, increasing traffic on highways and the Interstate while creating additional enforcement challenges for the Cowboy State’s troopers. 

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Wyoming Highway Patrol Captain Erik Jorgensen and Lieutenant Louis Tegdesch reported no major incidents required response from the WHP.

As with their fellow local law enforcement agencies, preparing for WYO Rodeo week requires careful, time consuming planning and increased manpower.

The WHP works with fellow agencies to divide the Sheridan Region into manageable jurisdictions to handle the influx of vehicles and promote safe and sober driving during Sheridan’s largest annual event.
