Nominees for Judicial Vacancy in Sheridan Circuit Court Announced
Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice Lynne Boomgaarden, Chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission, announced Thursday that the JNC has submitted three nominees to Governor Mark Gordon to fill the judicial vacancy in the Circuit Court of the Fourth Judicial District in Sheridan. The nominees submitted to the governor, listed in alphabetical order, are Joel Defebaugh, Jeremy Kisling and Tucker Ruby. The judicial vacancy is the result of Circuit Court Judge Sheryl Smith Bunting’s resignation, effective September 16, 2026.
The JNC submitted its list of nominees following an extensive review of submitted materials and candidate interviews. The Wyoming Constitution allows the governor 30 days to appoint one of the three nominees.
