Whitney Benefits Fall Semester Deadline Oct. 1
Whitney Benefits is encouraging eligible students from Sheridan and Johnson counties to apply for its interest-free student loan program for college, vocational and graduate education.
Established through the will of Sheridan resident Edward A. Whitney, the program has helped over 6,900 local students by loaning over $54 million to pursue higher education since 1928. Eligible applicants can receive loans to help cover educational costs while avoiding interest charges.
Executive Director Erin Kilbride and Student Loan Administrator Jennifer Destefano made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse inviting eligible traditional and nontraditional students to start planning early and stop by Whitney Benefits to get started on a new future.
Destefano told listeners the current loan cycle has seen an unprecedented amount of students and she feels even more prospective students should apply for these interest free loans to help achieve their goals.

Students must meet residency, enrollment and academic requirements and complete the application process by the fall or spring deadlines.
Kilbride said Whitney Benefits exists to serve the graduating students, high school equivalency and returning graduates of Sheridan and Johnson counties.
