Sundowner Lions Club Fundraising Peach Sales Deadline Aug 6. 

The Sheridan Sundowner Lions Club is once again selling fresh Palisade peaches as its annual fundraiser to support vision programs in the Sheridan Region. 

Longtime Lions Club member Bill Rathburn said this annual sale of peaches helps the Sundowner Lions Club with their mission to provide funds for children’s vision screenings, eyeglasses for qualifying children and vision-related assistance for adults in need. 

B. Rathburn 

Twenty-pound boxes of peaches are available to preorder for $45. Rathburn said his family often freezes and cans the fruit to ensure it can be used in recipes throughout the year. He also said pears will unfortunately not be offered this year after a late frost severely damaged the crop at the Colorado orchard that supplies the fruit. 

The fundraiser provides one of the club’s primary sources of funding while giving residents an opportunity to support local vision care efforts. The Sundowner Lions Club will continue to have a booth at 3rd Thursday on July 16 and Whitney Commons Farmer’s Markets, also on Thursdays: July 9, 23 and 30 in Sheridan as well as the Farmer’s Market in Ranchester. 

B. Rathburn 

Preorders can be made with cash, check or credit card. If paying by credit card there will be an additional 3% charge to cover the fee charged by the credit card companies. Rathburn said they will also accept orders via USPS mail at P.O. Box 319 Sheridan, Wyoming. The deadline to preorder peaches is Aug. 6.
