Summer Evening at the Mansion

Published

on

What can be better on a summer evening that relaxing in the shade with friends and family, or playing barefoot badminton in the thick, cool grass on the lawns of the Trail End Historic Site. On July 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., everyone is invited to spend an evening at the Kendrick Mansion. Those attending are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy it under the trees to the accompaniment of live music.

The Kendrick Mansion will be open to visitors at no charge from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with staff and volunteers on hand to answer questions.

From its authentically furnished rooms to its finely manicured lawns, Trail End displays an elegantly different aspect of Wyoming’s rich and colorful history.

Built in the Flemish Revival style, the 13,748 square foot mansion known as Trail End provides an intriguing glimpse into life during the period 1913 to 1933, primarily as seen through the eyes of the John B. Kendrick family.

Badminton and croquet are set up on the lawn, where you can challenge your best buds to a friendly game or two. While cookies and lemonade are available – courtesy of Trail End volunteers – everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and make an evening of it.

Live music is presented on the south porch, so bring a lawn chair and enjoy the concert.
