Bond Modification Hearing Held for Sheridan Man Facing Trial
A bond modification hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for William Ziska, who is charged with 12 counts of Felony Voyeurism, and one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children. Ziska was arrested and charged with the crimes for allegedly installing a video camera in the vent of a bathroom at a residence in Sheridan. According to court documents, the alleged criminal activity occurred between February 19 and March 22 of this year.
Ziska’s Defense Attorney, Anna Malmberg, filed a motion to have the Court reduce her client’s $25,000 cash only bond to a 10 percent posting. After hearing arguments from both Malmberg and Sheridan County Deputy and Prosecuting Attorney Christina White on the bond modification request, District Court Judge John Fenn denied the request and continued Ziska’s bond under the same terms and conditions that were previously set. The jury trial remains tentatively scheduled for January 25 through the 28 of 2021, but could possibly be continued once again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If convicted on all 13 counts, Ziska faces up to 34 years in prison and fines of up to $70,000.
