According to national statistics shared by the Captain, 111 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty in 2025, including 44 firearm-related deaths and 34 traffic-related fatalities.
Ringley asked the public to use this week to develop new habits of paying attention to one’s surroundings while driving and moving over when motorists come upon first responders and law enforcement who are performing their duties on roadways.
